Weak On Abortion
The abortion lobby is trying to get an initiative on the November ballot to change Idaho’s abortion law, expanding it up to the point of “viability,” where viability is defined by the physician, which can mean all the way up until the day of birth if the doctor says so. (Read it Here)
Rep. Mickelsen Made two Video’s on Abortion
- She hid or deleted the second video.
- You can read about it Here.
- Watch the hidden or deleted video Here or below.
The deleted/hidden video resembles arguments made by abortion lobbyist (i.e. making use of people’s ignorance of the medical system and the law).
- She claims the only option is to wait for a natural birth
- She claims the baby has zero chance of viability before 25-27 weeks (which is incorrect and continues to decrease)
- Her basic logic is: The mother has a “chance” of developing an infection, so the solution is to kill the baby as a preemptive measure.
- In other words — She is saying abortion should be used as a preventative measure before the mother’s life is ever in danger.
- She ignores other possible treatments such antibiotics and/or inducing birth.
The current abortion law, the Defense of Life Act, already includes exceptions for the life of the mother, rape or incest (Read it Here). In the context of the abortion ballot initiative, this should tell you who she is listening to and what her biases are.
Hidden or Deleted Video
I would say Rep. Mickelsen is ignorant but her record shows she is just plain lying.

1. Babies at 27, and yes even 24 weeks, are absolutely viable and the idea that killing them should be allowed is evil.
2. An induction and delivery is absolutely the right medical decision in… pic.twitter.com/mdFqY07SzK
If you search in Google for “Stephanie Mickelsen abortion viability,” you can see evidence of the video’s existence on her Facebook account, but it is not currently accessible to the public.
About 1 month before the hidden or deleted video, she made another very cryptic video you can watch below.
- She referred to our current law as the “trigger law”
- Its actual name is the “Defense of Life Act.”
- She never said the word abortion.
- Instead, she adopted liberal phrasing, replacing the word, abortion, with “women’s health care.”
- She seemed to want to drum up opposition to the current abortion law.
- Only two commenters were in favor of changing the law.
- One of those two happened to be William Athay, her personal substitute who voted on her behalf in the legislature when she was absent.
- Only two commenters were in favor of changing the law.
This isn’t the first time Rep. Mickelsen has defended abortion. In 2023, she started giving some hints about her views. Here is a quote from an article written in the Gem State Chronicle by Brian Almon on the legislative session that year.
“Rep. Mickelsen said a lot of ridiculous things this session. She claimed that rights were granted by government. She lamented the idea of taking away “abortion care” from medical school curricula. But the craziest moment came when debating against H314, which tells libraries they can’t give graphic and obscene material to children. Stephanie grew increasingly animated as she said that this bill was the first step toward Nazi book burnings, and that Nazi-style genocide was just around the corner.”
The abortion initiative is likely to be on the November ballot.
- There have been Zero prosecutions because of Idaho’s abortion law.
- There have been Zero verifiable deaths because someone couldn’t get an abortion since the current law went into effect.
- The medical system is still functioning in Idaho, despite the abortion industry propaganda and spreading of misinformation.
Rep. Mickelsen is helping to create a false narrative to confuse those who trust the opinions of Republicans in office. — She is arguably more dangerous than a Democrat.
Likewise – you might hear someone say “I’m LDS and the church’s position is my position on abortion”. This is a tactic, NOT a position. Make them take a side. Further, this statement is asserting that their position is somehow the LDS church’s position. — Another example of fooling people into thinking they believe the same when they may not.
Why I support Kelly?
- Kelly is Pro-Life.
- Kelly supports the Defense of Life Act.
- Kelly will oppose the ballot initiative and the abortion lobbyist.
